Based on a Czechoslovakian folktale, “Læfan” brings to life the story of a young girl’s coming of age in a mysterious and magical world. From the small cottage our main character, Læfan, shares with her herbalist mother; to the enchanted birch grove discovered deep in the neighboring forest, we follow the girl through three days of mundane tasks turned fantastic by her interactions with the beautiful and timeless woman of the birch wood. |
